Introduction
The Next Generation (NG9-1-1) system relies on a set of core GIS datasets. The data must be complete, accurate and formatted to work with the NG9-1-1 systems and available in a flexible, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure
Vision
All GIS data required by NG9-1-1 systems, including those that strongly recommended, are created, regularly updated, of sufficient quality for use in NG9-1-1 systems, and shared with the stakeholders needing this information.
Goals
We will implement the vision by
- Creating data standards for core GIS datasets required by NG9-1-1 and having those nominated and included in the Idaho Map
- Developing manuals and guidelines for best mapping practices of NG9-1-1 required and strongly recommended layers
- Supporting coordination and efforts implemented to bring Idaho closer to full NG9-1-1 readiness
