Land Use Land Cover Theme

There are three elements in this theme: Land Use, Land Cover and Land Tenure. Land Cover focuses on landscape scale information. The large question is which classification system to use or modify.

Land Use reflects information at the local scale. With different zoning codes in every jurisdiction, our biggest challenge is integration. Land Tenure reflects management regimes or stewardship goals on particular lands. Tenure frequently transcends ownership and parcel boundaries.
