Topic 1: Compiling figures on current and past GIS

Discuss
progress on compiling general estimates and approach to completing the
estimates.
Topic 2a: Business Drivers (3.5)
Receive
comments on business drivers: changes, additions, and discussion on their
priority.

Topic 2b: Examples of Current or Potential GIS Benefits for
Idaho (Business Case Section 3.5.2)
Collect and
elaborate on examples of actual or potential GIS benefits (see categories below).
These examples relate to: a) improved SDI
coordination in GIS development and operation AND b) direct benefits from use
of GIS technology. Some examples
already discussed: a) public land management (IPRS), b) more complete/equitable
property assessment, c) lower insurance rates, d) economy of scale in GIS
development efforts, e) opportunities for reduction in server/software license
cost, f) lower cost in facility design, g) trip mileage reduction, h) better
e-gov, i) Agriculture/Invasive species management, and j) water quality
improvements

Topic 3: Ideas for High-Priority, “Killer” Applications (Business
Case Section 3.6)
Come up with a short list of
potential applications for the SDI that will have high business value and
impact. Some ideas for discussion and elaboration: a) IPRS, b) Survey Control
Database, c) something related to energy conservation/alternative energy?, d)
enhanced access to water well information, e) some type of emergency management
application (critical facilities query and access?), f) permitting information
access, g) a field-based application, h) enhancement of tourist information Web
access with GIS-enabled queries, i) executive dashboard GIS-enable important
Exec information needs).
